Okay... you asked for it...

Since the person who's checkin' my blog from my ex-employer won't identify themselves, I'm going to change up my settings. If you're a regular reader who's e-mail I do not have, or you're someone without a blogger account, you're going to be blocked in about a week. Sorry.

I've been shopping again...

...but at least it's with a purpose. In a mere TWENTY days, we'll be leaving the snowing Land of Mad for a sunny 7 bedroom villa about 45 minutes outside of Puerto Vallarta. All of my favorite people will be in attendance. Just between you and me, I CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUTTA HERE!!!!!! Nothing against the Land we call "Mad"... I'm just a bit DONE with the whole snow thing.
So anyway... back to the shopping. Last year, I had a brilliant hat with me in PV. When we left, I gave it to the housekeeper lesbian. She was so excited... she smiled, laughed, and thanked me profusely as pictures of her gettin' her freak on in the local PV Dyke bars flashed through my head. ANYHOW, I just KNEW I had to get another hat for the trip this year. So I found two:

PaulSmithHat

this one I picked up on Barneys.com. fun, right?

this next one has a bit of provenance, as it were. While watching some food network show about (gulp) Rachel Ray being on vacation in Spain, I noticed that her husband (who was prominently featured, for some odd reason) had a pretty bad-ass hat on. I checked my file of shopping sites and clicked on a site I thought would have it - no luck. BUT on the second site I clicked on, I scored it!!!

Not bad... I'm getting good at this interweb shopping stuff.

I've been stressing over a travel outfit for this trip. It's sure to be FREEZING at the very least when we leave here and when we arrive in PV, I'm counting on it being excessively hot. So... WHAT TO WEAR????? I'm thinking a pair of jeans, a lovely blue oxford, a lightweight cotton scarf and my cashmere LE jacket - drape the jacket on my arm when we hit the ground in PV and I'll be all set. BUT what shoes???? I found these during a biz trip to some mall about 2 hours away - gasp and blasphemy, they actually had a Nordstroms. As a rule, Nordstroms is not on my list of go-to stores, but beggars can't be shoesers:

kinda' groovy, no? Don't tell anyone, but I also picked up another pair of washed suede 1/2 boots with delicious stitching also by Mr. Varvatos.

I also picked up a couple of lightweight cotton scarves. Somehow, I've grown accustomed to having things wrapped around my neck - go figure. They're a bit reminiscent of those scarves you used to see on Israeli soldiers - but better cuz Reuhl did 'em.
I guess I'm pretty all set. Let's just hope I can still fit into my shorts. UGH! I just heard about the "Madison 20" the other day. It's kinda' like the "Freshmen 15", but you don't have to be enrolled in college. Neat!!!
Hasta Lumbago!
