it's been too long...

Sorry for not updating for so long. I can't say that I've been particularly busy... just normal busy. Been traveling for work... NYC, Long Island, Chicago... was on the spectator boat for the start of the R@ce to M@ckinac Is. Kinda' fun. New York was great as always. got to get my shoppin' fix in (2 pairs of shoes, 1 Jack Spade bag, 1 Filson by Jean Shop Bag, some new Kid R0b0t pieces by j0e L3db3tt3r) and got to spend a day with one of my best friends. Had a great dinner at Les Halles (anthony bourd@ins' place) Most incredible steak I've ever had!!! Anyhow...
Let's see... last post was about dumpin' out my make-up case and officially retiring from theater. Since I've officially walked away from "the boards" I guess I've got a little less to look forward to. I was just think about how I used to look forward to the time of year when all the theater companies I liked working with would start posting their upcoming seasons. I'd click around their websites hoping that they weren't planning seasons filled with Tap shows... (I hate tap dancing - i can do it... i just hate it... something about it strikes me as so, um... mathematical). There would be that moment seeing a show that I was familiar with and thinking ... could I play any of the roles? would they ever consider me for one of the leads? is there enough dancing in the show to keep me interested? Who's choreographing? Do I know them? Would I want to work with them? So... none of that for me anymore. sigh.
I'm trying to think of something that could fill that void for me. Something other than shopping. Something that could give me a creative outlet with a workout. I'd go take class, but it's really hard with a 45 minute commute. Okay. No excuses. Class is the best thing for me. I'm just going to make it happen. I'm sure i can find some low-key studio in this little town... just drop in and take an open adult class... hang out in back... start slow... take it easy... just enjoy the process.
Wish me luck.
